What is a professional networking site? A professional networking site is much like a social network website like Facebook or Friendster or MySpace, except that you don’t just establish a social / friend network, but a network of professional contacts. The more contacts you have, of course, the more access you have to outsourced projects job offers, and the like. In a sense, LinkedIn operates sort of like a virtual referral system, where there is a feature for employers to give recommendations for a certain job they feel was well done. The more referrals a person has, then the more chances of getting hired or being enlisted for a project.
